The name says it, the Complexe Atlantide of Saint-Calixte, in Lanaudiere, is a large park that offers all the services you can expect from a campsite with 700 campsites. There are countless activities and facilities. The resort is just 45 minutes from Montreal, making it an ideal destination for a weekend getaway. In order to plan and take full advantage of your stay, here are some tips I would have liked to know before planning my getaway.

1. Check the show schedule before choosing the dates of yourstay..

The Complexe Atlantide offers an impressive outdoor show programation . During our visit we had the chance to see Marc Dupré and Jérôme Couture. If you plan to stay in Atlantide you can plan your stay when one of your favorite artists will be there.

2. Bring the bikes for the whole family

The complex is great! Walking doesn't bother me but know distances between attractions are calculated in km. Getting around by bike will save you a lot of time.

3. Take full advantage of your last day

If you chose the package including access to recreational facilities, you will certainly want to enjoy it fully. If your campsite is not rented to another camper the day of your departure, you will be able to leave your equipment for the day free of charge. Check with the reception when you arrive.

4. Choose the right site for camping
Camping sites offer very little privacy. Don't be surprise! The concept of Complexe Atlantide is not to offer you an immersive nature experience. Your neighbors will be close by! The new section inaugurated in 2018, near the wave pool, offers in my opinion the most interesting sites for their size. On the other hand, for those who camp with friends, you will find on Hercule Street (368 to 413) two services sites offering the possibility to install two trailers on the same site.

5. Choose the right package

There are 3 types of camping packages for Atlantis and they are based on 2 nights for a family of 2 adults and two children.

The basic package (camping only) will allow you to access the beach, the pool and the mini-farm as well as the shows and Fireworks. ($80.00 to $120.00 + TX).

The intermediate package gives you access to inflatable games, water slides, the wave pool and the small river on the tube. ($195.00 to $235.00 + TX).

The third package gives you access in addition to all that is mentioned above, the Magic Castle, the aerial course and the inflatable path to the Lake (Wipeout). ($256.00 to $296.00 + TX).

The famous haunted house is not included in the camping packages and you can visit it at the cost of $15.66 + TX per person.

If you have not decided which package is right for you, you can add it on site without any problems.

6. Your guests can save

If you are planning to host guests who would like to enjoy recreational facilities, know that the site Groupon offers interesting daily packages. These packages are not advantageous for campers staying in Complexe Atlantide.

7. Renting a golf cart to get around is not a bad idea but beware!

I am not a fan of the carts on the campsites but at Complexe Atlantide, I must say that it was very convenient to carry around our little people. The number of carts fro rent is limited and they are very popular. Reservations are technically impossible. On the other hand if you prepay $80 for 24 hours rental, you can get a cart when there is a return. Beware! Your 24 hours begins when you pay even if you do not have the cart in your possession... We paid on Friday at 5pm and got our cart the next day at 10:00 a.m. So we paid $80 for 7 hours rental. I will let you make your own opinion on this practice!
