RÉSOLUTIONS 2020 D'UNE CAMPEUSE
All The Blog

We're starting the New Year and many of us like to set goals and make resolutions. As a camper you probably have dreams or plans for the coming season. Looking forward to spring, here's my list of goals for the 2020 camping season. I hope that 2020 will be your best camping year ever!

INVESTING IN MAINTENANCE AND SAFETY

In 2019, we have all witnessed through the media many RV accidents. The construction of recreational vehicles is what it is; tires of varying degrees of quality, brakes that wear out quickly, and so on. This year we won't start the season without a mechanical check of our trailer and truck.

REDUCING OUR ENVIRONMENTAL FOOTPRINT

This is the most important resolution for me in 2020. For the past few years we have been changing our camping habits with simple gestures such as banning water bottles and disposable dishes, using phosphorus-free soap etc.

I feel a great deal of guilt about our footprint. We are nomadic campers. Our fuel consumption is around 22 litres of gaz for every 100 km travelled and we drive a lot during the summer. Our ecological footprint is huge, so this year, I'm changing my car for an electric car. Our towing vehicle will remain gas-powered but at least our second vehicle will be emission-free

CAMP MORE OFTEN IN UNSERVICED SITES

Always in line with living in harmony with nature, we will invest in solar panels. Unserviced sites are often the prettiest!

CONSUME RESPONSIBLY

I like to plan ahead. Shopping during the week to avoid the shops during our precious camping time may seem like a good idea. This year I want to consume local products and make new discoveries so I plan to make more stops at local cheese shops, fruit stands, bakeries or grocery stores. Travelling is also about local specialties.

TRY NEW RECIPES

I've been collecting camping recipe ideas for several years. My Pinterest boards are full of them! I feel like I always eat the same thing when I'm camping. In 2020 we try something else.

TRY WINTER CAMPING

The camping season is so short in Quebec! Rather than getting the blues and miss my trailer all winter long, I'm planning to at least try winter camping this year... note that the year ends in December 2020 😊

MAKE PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER TRIED CAMPING BEFORE TRY IT OUT

We all know a family who would like to try the experience of camping but do not have the necessary equipment on hand and fear that the project is too ambitious. I promise to get at least one other family hooked on the joys of camping this year.
