Summer is coming to an end and most campsites are closing swimming pools and recreational facilities. However, the camping season is far from over. For me, this is the best season to camp. I love the calm of the slow season. With temperatures coming down, we take the opportunity to choose destinations offering different activities such as hiking, agrotourism, cultural visits and even the discovery of new villages. Northern New York offers a wide range of activities and we particularly appreciate visiting this region in September or October. Here's some activities to put on your list if you plan to visit Plattsburgh or Lake Placid area. -
DISCOVERING THOUSAND ISLANDS ON THE LONG SAULT ROAD
The Thousand Islands region of Ontario has the largest public beach on the shores of the St. Lawrence River (Mille Roches), bike paths, preserved nature trails, boat ramps, picnic areas, scuba diving and remarkable fishing. Enought to keep you busy for a few days. -

MY FAVORITE PLACES FOR FALL CAMPING
I love camping in autumn. It's during this period that I make the most outings. Summer is solicited; BBQ with friends, weddings, swimming at home etc.! In autumn, with back to school, camping sites are transformed into a haven of tranquility and I want to enjoy it. My camping season traditionally ends on Thanksgiving weekend when the fall colors are in full swing.
