CAMPING ALOUETTE COMBINES CITY AND NATURE
I recently wrote an article on urban campgrounds. There are many of them around major American cities, but Montreal is no exception. In the run-up to the opening of the festivals, the nternational Loto-Québec Fireworks, La Ronde opening and all that the metropolis offers in the summer season, I thought it was appropriate to talk about Alouette campground located in St-Mathieu-de-Beloeil in Montérégie.
A hotel room in downtown Montreal can be quite expensive for a family so why not camp close to the city. Approximately 20 minutes separate downtown from the Alouette campground. Public transport options are also available close by which allows you easily spend the day on the island.
Montreal's proximity is not is not the only attractive aspect to this campground. Heated swimming pool, practice golf course, playground and ready-to-camp facilities are available. What a great combo when you can travel and camp!
Camping Alouette is also very close to Mont-Saint-Bruno National Park as well as Mont-Saint-Hilaire so you will definetly have enough to keep you busy during your stay.
We were invited by Parkbridge Campgrounds to their Alouette establishement last weekend and I must say that, when my GPS indicated 35 minutes to drive between the north and south shores, I was skeptical about the location of the place. Are we going to feel like we're camping despite the proximity of the urban environment?
Surprisingly yes! The Alouette campground offers several types of sites even some in a wooded areas. Whether you're looking for the comfort of modern amenities or rustic camping, it's all there!
If you are planning a getaway to the teeming city of Montreal this summer I recommend staying at the Alouette campsite and make it a camping and city combo!
